Past Simple Tense
Le Past Simple est utilisé pour parler d'actions et de situations terminées dans le passé. C'est l'un des temps les plus couramment utilisés en anglais.
Le Past Simple a différentes formes selon que vous utilisez le verbe 'be' ou d'autres verbes. Le verbe 'be' a deux formes au passé (was/were), tandis que les autres verbes utilisent soit des formes régulières du passé (terminant par -ed), soit des formes irrégulières du passé.
Formation
Forme Affirmative avec 'be'
Le verbe 'be' a deux formes au Past Simple : 'was' (pour I, he, she, it) et 'were' (pour you, we, they).

Forme Négative avec 'be'
Pour former les négations avec 'be', ajoutez 'not' après was/were. Les contractions sont couramment utilisées en anglais parlé.

Questions Oui/Non avec 'be'
Pour former les questions avec 'be', placez was/were avant le sujet.
Exemples :
- Was I late for the meeting?
- Were you at the concert last night?
- Was he angry about the decision?
- Was she your teacher?
- Was it expensive?
- Were we on the same team?
- Were they at home yesterday?
Questions avec Wh- et 'be'
Les questions avec wh- commencent par un mot interrogatif (who, what, where, when, why, how), suivi de was/were et du sujet.
Exemples :
- Where was I when you called?
- Why were you absent yesterday?
- Who was he with at the restaurant?
- How was she after the operation?
- What was it like in London?
- When were we supposed to meet?
- Where were they last weekend?
Forme Affirmative avec Autres Verbes
Pour les autres verbes, utilisez la forme au passé. Les verbes réguliers ajoutent -ed, tandis que les verbes irréguliers ont des formes spéciales au passé.

Forme Négative avec Autres Verbes
Utilisez 'did not' (didn't) + forme de base du verbe pour les négations.

Questions Oui/Non avec Autres Verbes
Utilisez 'Did' + sujet + forme de base du verbe pour les questions.
Exemples :
- Did I leave my keys here?
- Did you enjoy the film?
- Did he pass the exam?
- Did she call you yesterday?
- Did it work properly?
- Did we meet last year?
- Did they arrive on time?
Questions avec Wh- et Autres Verbes
Commencez par un mot interrogatif, puis utilisez 'did' + sujet + forme de base du verbe.
Exemples :
- Where did I put my phone?
- When did you move to London?
- Why did he leave early?
- What did she say?
- How did it happen?
- Who did we invite to the party?
- Where did they go on holiday?
