First Conditional 사용법

First conditional은 영어에서 가장 실용적인 조건문 형태로, 실제 가능성과 예상되는 미래 결과에 대해 이야기할 때 사용됩니다. 확실성을 다루는 zero conditional과 달리, first conditional은 특정 조건이 충족될 경우 일어날 가능성이 높은 일을 표현하므로 계획, 예측, 현실적인 미래 시나리오를 논의하는 데 필수적입니다.

if + 현재 시제 다음에 will + 동사 원형으로 형성되는 이 조건문은 현재 조건과 미래 결과 사이의 다리 역할을 합니다. 이것은 현실적인 가능성의 조건문으로, 계획을 세우고, 조언을 제공하고, 결과를 논의하고, 현재 상황에 기반하여 일어날 것으로 믿는 것을 표현하는 데 완벽합니다.

역순:

We will stay indoors if it rains.
You will pass the exam if you study hard.
I will answer immediately if she calls.
We will arrive on time if we leave now.

대체 형태

조동사 대체:

If it rains, we can stay inside.
If you're late, you might miss the bus.
If she agrees, we should proceed.

명령형 결과:

If you see him, tell him to call me.
If it gets cold, put on your coat.
If you finish early, help the others.

Going to 미래:

If it's sunny, we're going to have a picnic.
If she passes, she's going to celebrate.
If they arrive late, I'm going to be annoyed.

if절에서 'will'을 사용하지 마세요 - 현재 시제를 사용하세요

✗ "If it will rain, we will stay home."

✓ "If it rains, we will stay home."

조건절은 미래 시제가 아니라 현재 시제여야 합니다

✗ "If you study hard, you pass the exam."

✓ "If you study hard, you will pass the exam."

결과절은 first conditional을 위해 'will'이 필요합니다

✗ "If she comes, I would be happy."

✓ "If she comes, I will be happy."

First conditional과 second conditional 형태를 혼합하지 마세요
