Present Simple vs Present Continuous

Present Simple

用于:

例子:

  • I live in Manchester. (permanent)

  • Water boils at 100°C. (fact)
  • The train leaves at 9 a.m. (schedule)

Present Continuous

用于:

  • 现在正在发生的动作
  • 临时情况
  • 未来安排
  • 变化中的情况
  • 当前项目/活动

例子:

  • I am living with friends. (temporary)
  • She is working late tonight. (specific time)
  • The climate is changing. (ongoing change)
  • We are meeting at 7 p.m. (arrangement)

语境中的关键差异

居住情况:

Present Simple: "I live in London."

→ 这是我的永久住所

Present Continuous: "I'm living in London."

→ 这是临时的(在那里学习/工作)

工作情况:

Present Simple: "She works from home."

→ 这是她的正常安排

Present Continuous: "She's working from home."

→ 仅今天/本周

学习情况:

Present Simple: "I study Spanish."

→ 定期课程/爱好

Present Continuous: "I'm studying Spanish."

→ 当前项目/本学期

要避免的常见错误

❌ "I am loving chocolate."

✅ "I love chocolate."

状态动词(love、like、know、understand)很少使用进行时形式

❌ "The sun is rising in the east."

✅ "The sun rises in the east."

一般事实使用Present Simple,而不是Continuous

❌ "I read a book right now."

✅ "I'm reading a book right now."

说话时正在发生的动作需要Continuous

问问自己:

  • 这是永久的还是临时的? → 永久 = Simple,临时 = Continuous
  • 这是习惯还是现在正在发生? → 习惯 = Simple,现在 = Continuous
