Go to Practice ExercisesEl Present Continuous (también llamado Present Progressive) se usa para describir acciones que están sucediendo ahora o alrededor del presente. Se forma con el Present Simple de 'be' + verbo-ing.
El Present Continuous tiene diferentes usos. Puede describir acciones que están sucediendo ahora mismo, situaciones temporales, arreglos futuros e incluso hábitos molestos. Entender cuándo usar este tiempo es clave para hablar un inglés natural.

Formación
Forma Afirmativa
Forma el Present Continuous con am/is/are + verbo-ing. La misma estructura se usa para todos los verbos. Las contracciones ('m, 's, 're) son comunes en el inglés hablado.

Forma Negativa
Añade 'not' después del verbo 'be' para hacer negaciones. Las contracciones son comúnmente usadas.

Preguntas Sí/No
Coloca am/is/are antes del sujeto para formar preguntas sí/no.
Ejemplos:
- Am I eating chocolate?
- Are you studying now?
- Is he working?
- Is she doing her homework?
- Is it raining?
- Are we meeting at six?
- Are they coming?
Preguntas con Wh-
Para preguntas con wh-, añade una palabra interrogativa al principio de la pregunta.
Ejemplos:
- Why am I eating chocolate?
- What are you studying now?
- When is he working?
- What is she doing?
- Why is it raining?
- Who are we meeting?
- How are they travelling?
Uso
⚠️ Nota: Los verbos estativos (como love, know, believe) generalmente no se usan en formas continuas. Describen estados en lugar de acciones.
