Past Simple Tense
O Past Simple é usado para falar sobre ações e situações completadas no passado. É um dos tempos verbais mais comumente utilizados em inglês.
O Past Simple tem formas diferentes dependendo se você usa o verbo 'be' ou outros verbos. O verbo 'be' tem duas formas no passado (was/were), enquanto outros verbos usam formas regulares do passado (terminando em -ed) ou formas irregulares do passado.
Formação
Forma Afirmativa com 'be'
O verbo 'be' tem duas formas no Past Simple: 'was' (para I, he, she, it) e 'were' (para you, we, they).

Forma Negativa com 'be'
Para fazer negativos com 'be', adicione 'not' após was/were. As contrações são comumente usadas em inglês falado.

Perguntas Sim/Não com 'be'
Para fazer perguntas com 'be', mude was/were para antes do sujeito.
Exemplos:
- Was I late for the meeting?
- Were you at the concert last night?
- Was he angry about the decision?
- Was she your teacher?
- Was it expensive?
- Were we on the same team?
- Were they at home yesterday?
Perguntas com Wh- e 'be'
Perguntas com wh- começam com uma palavra interrogativa (who, what, where, when, why, how), seguida de was/were e do sujeito.
Exemplos:
- Where was I when you called?
- Why were you absent yesterday?
- Who was he with at the restaurant?
- How was she after the operation?
- What was it like in London?
- When were we supposed to meet?
- Where were they last weekend?
Forma Afirmativa com Outros Verbos
Para outros verbos, use a forma no passado. Verbos regulares adicionam -ed, enquanto verbos irregulares têm formas especiais no passado.

Forma Negativa com Outros Verbos
Use 'did not' (didn't) + forma base do verbo para negativos.

Perguntas Sim/Não com Outros Verbos
Use 'Did' + sujeito + forma base do verbo para perguntas.
Exemplos:
- Did I leave my keys here?
- Did you enjoy the film?
- Did he pass the exam?
- Did she call you yesterday?
- Did it work properly?
- Did we meet last year?
- Did they arrive on time?
Perguntas com Wh- e Outros Verbos
Comece com uma palavra interrogativa, depois use 'did' + sujeito + forma base do verbo.
Exemplos:
- Where did I put my phone?
- When did you move to London?
- Why did he leave early?
- What did she say?
- How did it happen?
- Who did we invite to the party?
- Where did they go on holiday?
